GridMaker Overview
GridMaker is for everyone who
occasionally needs graph paper
wants an affordable source for specialty graph papers.
App purchase includes three basic papers with full features:
Square / rectangular grid
Dot (isometric) grid
Diagonal grid
Every paper includes the full set of tools including the ability to put an image behind a grid, and Paint.
Papers can also be exported as an SVG, PDF or PNG — opening up possibilities for working with other applications and devices.
In-app purchase of specialty papers vastly expand your choices. Open QuickPicks from the home page and scroll to see examples of each specialty paper.
Specialty papers are added by In-app purchase.
Patterns are added as requested by app users.
Each In-app purchase is at same cost as the original app.
The bundle, equal to the cost of purchasing five papers, unlocks all current and future papers
(Of course, credit is given for previous purchases.)

1.Set defaults for new papers
Tap '•••' More button in the upper right to find and open the menu for Default Paper Settings.
The Default Paper Settings menu sets the defaults for new papers. The defaults can be overridden on an individual paper.
Page Defaults sets paper size to Letter or A4.
Graph Paper Units sets paper grid and page dimension to inches or metric. This is where metric units are set to cm or mm.
PDF Line Width sets the line quality for a PDF to thin, medium or heavy.
2. Tap an icon to open that paper
Tap an icon to open a paper. There are two ways to get started —
Tap '+' to start a new paper from scratch.
Tap 'QUICK PICKS' to see the pre-started layouts. If you see one you like, tap and it will open with that layout as your starting point.The three papers included with the app (grid, dots and diagonal) are unlocked.
What is a Quick Pick?
Quick Picks are editable layouts that offer a quick start to creating a grid. They can also inspire how to customize a paper.
Quick Picks on the Home screen list a subset of the Quick Picks available for each paper. Those for papers with an InApp purchase have a lock icon. Tap a tile in the Quick Pick list to open a paper (or purchase and open) with the grid configured as shown.
3. Create the graph paper
If needed, adjust paper’s defaults in ‘•••’ More —
Override Paper Settings
Toggle graph papers units between inch and metric
Each paper has a side tool bar —
The unique tools for a paper are at the top of the tool bar
The four tools at the bottom are the general tools available on every paper:
Picture icon adds an image behind the grid
Palette has a choice of line color options and tools to make custom line palettes
Text has edit tools to add a title to the grid and edits paper name
Page Settings sets page size, margins, and has an option to place multiple grids on a page
4. Paint a finished grid
Tap the Paint Brush icon at the top to open graph paper in Paint.
A grid is prepared for painting by converting it into an image. Now that the grid is an image it can not be edited. If a grid needs to be changed you’ll need to —
Exit Paint
Open the grid to make edits
Bring the edited grid into Paint and begin coloring again
A few tips for working in Paint —
Pinch-and-zoom make it easier to work on a fine grid
Use Pattern Painting (Long Press icon) to enable coloring in a repeating pattern
Set Snap to Grid to make it easier to add lines and text to the grid
The small ‘+’ above the colors in the Paint Color pop-up opens the tools for adding colors to an existing palette or creating a new palette. Colors are added from an image, live camera, color wheel, or by entering an RGB or HSB value.
Print & Share your graph paper
Print to a standard size page:
Open the paper you want to print, then open ‘•••’ More for the Print icon.
Before print there is an option to choose a layout, which may be important if your graph paper needs to print at exact scale.
Print to a unique size page:
Open the paper you want to print, tap Share to create a PDF to print on a large format printer.
Share as a PDF, PNG, or SVG to a friend, another application or device.
Open the paper you want to print and tap Share.
